ADELAIDE FRINGE
Event Description: The Sounds of Spain’ a flamenco and Celtic fusion presented by Marina Tamayo. A mystic journey from the North to South of Spain. A total immersion of mystic sounds and deep spirit. Tamayo’s company of dancers ‘Flamenco del Mar’ Lucy Vernon, Peter Pavlov, Zoe Velez, Anthony street Soloist ‘Lord of the Dance’, Irish world champion Peta Anderson, Flamenco artist Roshanne Wijeyeratne. Tamayo’s Sydney based company ‘Flamenco del Mar’ also features some of Australia’s exciting young fusion and flamenco musical talents in the industry today.
Featuring flamenco guitarist Felipe Kunze supported by fusion guitarists David Holberton, Will Henderson, Percussionists Adrian Van Nunen, Byron Mark, Flautist Keyna Wilkins, vocalist Zoe Velez, and featuring her debut in Australia the exciting Flamenco singer direct from Spain Eva Pinero Mesa. The show includes modern day Hispanic elements, Cuban rhythm, Celtic sounds and traditional flamenco that will lead you into the journey across Spain.
This bold and adventurous production, challenges stereotypes of folkloric dance and music embracing Spain’s diverse rich gypsy history between the Southern and Northern regions of Spain.
