Hey! Hey! It’s Palomitas Lunes.
After a short break last week for Easter, Popcorn Monday is back and this week we turn the spotlight on a man who has devoted his life to seducing and capturing Duende.
Gilles Larrain started his artistic life as a painter in Paris during the 1960s. He became fascinated with photography, moved to New York and began photographing for album covers and posters, working with John Lennon, Miles Davis, Sting and Salvador Dalí to name just a few.
In 1983, Gilles Larrain became enchanted with flamenco and at the age of 72 he now plays flamenco guitar, hosts Art Salon Parties and has a long list of flamenco legends captured in rare moments of Duende.
Although his passion for flamenco is strong, his work is not limited to flamenco, you can see more of Gilles Larrain’s photos at his website – http://www.gilleslarrain.com – but tonight we take a glimpse inside his flamenco world and his attempts to capture Duende.
Enjoy the videos and we hope to see you back here next Monday at 8pm for another flamenco video night.
Roll the film José.
