Tablao Flamenco presented by Chispa Flamenca
ADELAIDE: Two Shows only Fri 16 July and Sat 17 July
The Adelaide flamenco scene is truly flourishing at the moment and audiences have been taking advantage of the recent opportunities to see some live flamenco.
We are pleased to announce Chispa Flamenca’s new production Tablao Flamenco. A night of flamenco dance, music, tapas and wine ‘cabaret style’ at Casa de Flamenco in Seaview Downs, Adelaide.
Chispa Flamenca featuring renowned Adelaide flamenco artists Aloysius Leeson and Kristy Manuel will be joined by guest artists including dancer Ana Otero from Sydney, singer Mari Olivares, dancer Lisa Vertue, percussionist Adrian van Nunen and guitarist Al Valodze.
Kristy Manuel is a flamenco dancer, flamenco teacher and a recurring student of flamenco in Spain. She has a long list of mentors including; La Truco, Imnaculada Ortega, Manuel Betanzos, Isabel Bayon, Angel Atienza, Alicia Marquez, Ramon Martinez, Adela Campallo and Ursula Lopez. Kristy is an expressive dancer and a generous source of inspiration for many in the Adelaide flamenco community. Kristy will be joined on stage by Lisa Vertue and one of Sydney’s finest flamenco dancers, Ana Otero.
Aloysius Leeson has been playing guitar from a very young age, he has accompanied many singers and dancers, and studied with flamenco guitar maestros in Spain. Aloysius has worked at the dance studios of Javier Cruz and Maria Angeles in Seville and has recently released his second CD of original compositions, “Chispa Flamenca.” Aloysius will be joined by another fine guitarist, Al Valodze with both flamenco guitars underlined by the percussive rhythms of Adrian van Nunen.
As with all great live flamenco, Casa de Flamenco provides the perfect atmosphere for an interactive and entertaining night with everyone inspired by the heart felt sounds and cante of Mari Olivares.
The doors to Casa de Flamenco open at 7pm and there will also be Tapas and an authentic Paella provided by a local Spanish couple. Drinks available from the Licensed Bar, including local McLaren Vale wines sponsored by Serafino Wines.
