Al Di Meola will tour Australia in March 2010, direct from the U.S.A. he will travel to Perth, Sydney, Byron Bay, Sydney, Brisbane, Hobart, Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra, Newcastle, Parramatta and even Bellingen and Kuranda.

To guitar enthusiasts Al Di Meola will need no introduction with most Australian flamenco guitarists listing him as an influence. Di Meola crosses over many styles and was a pioneer in bridging the gap between jazz and rock.
Al Di Meola (Al Laurence Dimeola) is an Italian American from New Jersey, he reached an initial level of fame as a high velocity trail-blazing jazz fusion guitarist in 1974 and went solo with a massive album ‘Land of the Midnight Sun‘ in 1976. His 1981 live album with John McLaughlin and Paco de Lucía, ‘Friday Night in San Francisco‘ sold six million copies and is hailed as one of the most influential albums of all time. Today his music is a blend of sounds from Spain, Argentina, Israel and the Mediterranean.
Al Di Meola is bringing his six-piece Latin jazz fusion band ‘World Sinfonia‘ to Australian, the line-up includes Al Di Meola on guitar, Gumbi Ortiz on cajon and percussion, Fausto Beccalossi on accordion, Kevin Seddiki on guitar, Victor Miranda on double bass and Peter Kaszas on drums. The result is a complex fusion of flamenco, tango, middle eastern, South American, African music and from Di Meola’s own lips “The best group of musicians so far in my career.”
