A Joan Miró Mediterranean Flamenco Fantasy
The surreal works of Spanish Artist, Joan Miró are the inspiration for a brand new production by BBF (Barcelona Ballet Flamenco).Miróterraneo is a mediterranean fantasy exploring the different scenic languages that Miró explored in his art, adding classical music and flamenco to the interpretation, with stylized dance, folklore and traditional music.
"For us and our entire team it has not been easy to create a show based on a "sea of expressions" and an artist with the creative dimensions of a universal genius and "leyenda del tiempo" ..."
'Miróterraneo' promises to be a magical show from a professional dance company dedicated to reincarnating Miró through their own creative spirit. A celebration of the mediterranean as a highway of water that connects a variety of famous and artistic landscapes, full of a mixture of colors, music, chants, dances and cultures. This proud Catalunya company seems set on a road to explore the connections between flamenco and the long list of Catalonian artists who, at some point, have developed their career in Catalonia... from Pablo Picasso, Camarón, Miró, Montserrat Caballé, Bambino, Moncho, Joan Manuel Serrat, Dalí, Amargós, La Chana, La Singla, Los Amayas, Poveda, Carles Benavent, Mayte Martín and the list goes on and on.The show features invited artists, Antonio Canales (miró / caneles) and Carmen La Talegona (ojo del pintor), choreographed by Rubén Olmo. Antonio Canales, an equisite dancer often remembered by his signature us of shawls. La Talegona is the neice of famous singer, Talegón de Córdoba and has been sharing the stage with flamenco's greats since she was in her teens. The production will also feature some stunning aquatic video projections and dream-like animations.Managing Director: Jorge Jiménez Artistic Director: Paca García http://www.barcelonaballetflamenco.com
