Showcasing the full breadth of the WA flamenco scene, the Festival offers free family-friendly activities from 12pm-5pm followed by a gala performance featuring Inmaculada Ortega direct from Jerez de la Frontera, the heart of flamenco in Spain.
Inmaculada Ortega’s performances are described as powerful and charismatic, loaded with elegance and charm. She will be joined on stage by Perth’s own Jose Giraldo (guitar), Manolo Munoz (vocals), and Steve Richter (percussion), as well as the full breadth of the WA flamenco dance community, together for the first time for this showcase event.
The festival is being coordinated by The Flamenco Collective, a group of Perth’s finest Flamenco dancers and teachers. They are the who’s who of Perth’s Spanish dance scene with the majority directors of their own performance companies and dance schools.
The Perth Flamenco Festival will be held at Claremont Showground’s Gate One Theatre from 12pm on Sunday 28 April 2019.
