About the Performers
Venezuelan born guitarist Rafa Godoy is the grandson of iconic Colombian composer Rafael Godoy Lozano. He began studying classical guitar and Venezuelan music at the age of 12. Rafa has performed his music in venues and bars across Latin America, the US, Asia and Australia. Rafa’s newest release Chocolato Espresso was released in Australia through The Planet Company (MGM) in August 2013. Rafa recently completed an Honours degree at the Elder Conservatorium researching Venezuelan and Latin American guitar under Oliver Fartach-Naini.
Aloysius started playing guitar as a child. A love of flamenco led him to spend time in Spain following the traditional apprenticeship of accompanying singers and dancers, studying with maestros and playing at Juergas (parties). Since returning to Adelaide he has worked as a dance accompanist as well as giving frequent solo recitals. He recently completed a Masters in guitar performance under Oliver Fartach-Naini at the Elder Conservatorium.
