Signing off for 2019

Hi everyone, Cathy here, about to sign off for 2019.

I have just been looking at the Flamenco Australia Magazine calendar and Facebook page, which are filled with events coming up around the country. There are end of year student shows, professional shows in summer festivals, dance and cajon workshops and more…
We are so lucky to have such a wealth of flamenco opportunities down under, from both Australian and visiting artists.

It seems like only a few weeks ago that I took over as editor of Flamenco Australia Magazine. In fact it was in February this year that previous owner Paul put out the call for a new owner and editor, and in April I launched the magazine’s new website.

Via the new website we have fresh articles published every two weeks, a calendar of flamenco events from around the country, and of course the flamenco classes directory where newcomers can find details about flamenco schools and teachers in their area. Pulling all of this together has given me the opportunity to reach out to so many flamenco professionals and aficionados. It has been a steep learning curve but with your support, we are building a great online resource for flamenco in Australia.

I have lots of exciting new things planned for 2020! The newsletter will be up and running very soon, bringing you updates about all things flamenco. If you haven’t already signed up, you can subscribe here.
